My Photography Work Journey – Bradford College Y1
My name is Susanne Silveira and I’m 32 years old. I am married for 12 years now and I have 2 kids, a 10 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. I am originally from Brazil, also having German ancestry/nationality. I have always had a passion for Photography. I was 10 years old when I got my first camera, time my family was moving to Angola, Africa (for 2 years – 1990/1992). From then on Photography was always part of my life, but a part that was so natural that I took for granted for many years.
I have always admired and been inspired by Nature. The picture on the side was in Angola, just across the ‘Serra da Leba’ in Angola, where I was trying to capture the beauty of a wild flower, almost on the edge of a 2 km cliff. As you can see I was busted… nonetheless not stopping me to keep on finding my way and following my inspirations in the Natural world.
Something I also enjoy deeply is to construct abstract images and scenarios. I can lose myself in time, when I am in these ‘zones’, one of the best feelings in the whole world.
My professional path crossed several roads such as teaching English as a second language; bilingual receptionist, growing to becoming a Board PA (all in Brazil); until the time I moved to Portugal with my family and local circumstances led me to the financial industry; which was why I moved to the UK in the first place.
Life has its ways of changing things around and what was my retirement plan became my reason to live. I have joined Bradford College in September 2011 for Photography BA Hons degree and I have proudly completed my 1st semester with 2.1 grades. I enjoy each step of the way.
Some of my work so far can be seen at www.susannesilveira.wordpress.com, which records my learning journey and progress College. Aside from that, I also have a public facebook page where I advertise my work, including some more photographic bodies of work http://www.facebook.com/ssilveira32.
Some of my images will also be exhibited at Bradford City Hall and Listers Mill

It is a joy and an accomplishment to be able to share my perspective, inspiration and passion through my photography; to inspire others in their own places and environments. I hope you enjoy what you see.
All the Best,
‘When words are not enough to tell what the soul wants to express; the art of Photography comes with its utmost gift registering the essence of life.
It brings life to life again.
It makes your heart pulse again, or skips one of its beats.
It robs you of words and arguments.
Life is suddenly in a whole new perspective, as the photograph shares what is said and what is unsaid.’
